Helena Association of Realtors® is looking for a full-time Technology/Education Coordinator.  This position offers a unique opportunity to support the REALTOR® profession and the Helena business community in partnership with the Board, members, and our affiliates.  The position involves a variety of dynamic and challenging responsibilities including:

  • Serves as staff liaison for the Technology, Education, and Program Committees by taking minutes and assists CEO in implementing Association programs.
  • Schedules, plans, coordinates, and staffs continuing education committee, educational courses for realtors to maintain licenses, and manages educational instructors.
  • Develops, schedules, plans and assists in teaching new member orientation.
  • Provides significant technology support in preparing Zoom meetings, working with web designer in organizing and updating the HAR and HMLS websites, assists in producing brochures, newsletters and press releases and working with office automated systems.  
  • Maintains and serves as office expert to Realtor Association Management System Cooperative (RAMCO) database system and assists members with RAMCO portal and Sentrilock.
  • Coordinate Association events, fund raisers, luncheons and service projects.
  • Provides backup to the Member & Communication Coordinator (MCC) and support to HAR and HMLS operations and staff.  
  • Additional duties assigned by the CEO.
  • The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. 

Qualifications:  The minimum qualifications are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in office administration, computer technology, or a related field and two (2) years related experience including office administration experience.

Demonstrated Skills and Abilities in:  Computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, data management and basic bookkeeping.  General office procedures and the use of common office equipment.  Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, adaptability to changes, problem-solving skills and maintain confidentiality of personal information.  The position requires knowledge of the methods and techniques of database management and office administration (e.g., website updating, Microsoft Office Suite, RAMCO and relational databases);

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel 
  • Windows based applications and Zoom meetings
  • Internet Explorer
  • Outlook

Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

The Membership & Communications Coordinator assists the CEO with preparation and execution of Board and committee meetings, prepares agendas, power points, and takes minutes. 

  • Performs realtor membership processing functions to attract and retain members and maintain accurate member data.
  • Assists members with questions and new membership inquiries by phone, email, and walk-in. 
  • Provides information technology expertise to members such as Realtor Association Management System Cooperative (RAMCO), Lockbox automated systems or related IT system expertise. 
  • Assists with Association events such as community service, fund raisers and luncheons. 
  • Serve as staff liaison for Communications, Membership and YPN Committees by taking minutes and assists CEO in implementing Association programs.
  • Prepare material for Association weekly email updates and social media maintenance.  
  • Assists accountant with daily deposits and basic bookkeeping.
  • Manages office schedules and vendor contracts.  
  • Supports the CEO in organizing office procedures, filing systems and record retention, set-up meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Coordinate communication with State and National Realtor Associations and local MLS and other associations, as necessary.
  • Provides backup to the Technology/Education Coordinator (TEC) and support to HAR and HMLS operations and staff. 
  • Additional duties assigned by the CEO.

Press Release – Helena Association of Realtors – Sponsors Hand Sanitizer Production for COVID-19.

The Helena Association of Realtors (HAR) has donated $6,000 to Gulch Distillers to produce (on a non-profit basis) hand sanitizer which is critically needed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Helena area.  These funds were generated by contributions from HAR members over the past several years.   Gulch Distillers will produce and distribute some 1500 bottles (approximately 7 oz. in size) to be placed in community areas of most critical need.  Priority placement include front line responders, hospitals, assisted living and nursing homes, mental health centers, health care offices, essential service offices such as correctional and law enforcement, restaurants with curbside takeout and home delivery, other food and fuel providers, street and sanitation workers as well as essential public service employees.    

CEO George Harris says the Helena Association of Realtors consists of 380 members which includes 342 realtors and 38 affiliate offices.  They are a positive and generous group of professionals raising funds through various projects and contributions to give back to the community they love to serve.

HELENA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS – SUPPORT OF HELENA CITY ORDINANCE PROPOSED CHANGES –  Upcoming Vote 1.13.20

Item# 1 – Dimensional Standards

Ordinance No. 3278 increasing lot coverage in the R-1 (Residential) and R-2 (Residential) Zoning Districts; increasing maximum building height in the R-1 (Residential), R-2 (Residential), R-3 Residential), R-4 (Residential-Office), and B-2 (General Commercial) Zoning Districts; and eliminating minimum lot sizes for multiple dwelling units in the R-3, R-4/R-O Zoning Districts by amending Chapter 4 of Title 11 of the Helena City Code.

Present Situation: On December 3, 2019, the City of Helena Zoning Commissioners voted unanimously (5:0) to recommend approval of an ordinance to change a range of district dimensional standards by amending Chapter 4 of Title 11 of the Helena City Code in an effort to increase housing density in the city. This was followed by a first passage hearing on the ordinance by the City Commission on December 16, 2019, wherein the City Commission voted unanimously (4:0) to approve the ordinance. No one spoke in opposition to the ordinance at either hearing.
